Green Space and Connections:

Will Coordinated Strategies Link San Diego's Bays?

Open space and access to San Diego’s famous waterfront have been important issues in our city for decades. The conversation has mostly focused on downtown but has also at times included links to Mission Bay, via the “Bay to Bay” link. Three agencies – the Port of San Diego, San Diego Airport Authority, and City of San Diego - are currently creating improvements and long term strategies that will shape open space and access to our city’s bayfront for decades into the future. The Port Master Plan update, Airport Authority North Side Improvements, and Midway Community Plan Update will add to existing efforts to create and implement the North Embarcadero Plan.

Come hear how these agencies are coordinating efforts to promote access to the bayfront, transform existing highways like Harbor Drive and Pacific Highway into multi-modal corridors, and ultimately establish a friendly link to Mission Bay for all to enjoy.
