Dear C-3 Members and Friends,
Please join in an opportunity to have your views heard on the future of the Mission Valley stadium site, and influence the redevelopment of this important public property. It presents a unique opportunity to add much-needed affordable housing, parks, and other amenities, for the benefit of Mission Valley, SDSU, and the city as a whole.
At C-3’s December breakfast dialogue on this topic, we announced that we would hold a follow-up meeting to which we would invite all interested organizations. We now have this meeting scheduled for Saturday, February 23rd. The purposes of the meeting will be:
1. To gather input regarding public concerns about sale of the site to SDSU, and attempt to inject those concerns into the negotiations between the city and SDSU.
2. To engage with city representatives on those concerns through a multi-organization working group.
SDSU was an engaged participant in the December meeting, and may have a representative on hand at this meeting as well to hear input on planning for the stadium site.
Please reply to this message to indicate whether you or representatives of your organization plan to attend. For organizations, if possible, provide the names of representatives. We have use of the meeting site for just two hours, so it is vital that we start and finish on time. Please arrive at least a few minutes early, so that we can set up the room and commence the meeting quickly.
Enclosed are notes from discussion groups at the January C-3 gathering relating to issues in the stadium site negotiations. (These are simply notes of discussion points, and do not necessarily reflect positions that C-3 has taken as an organization.)
Please review these in advance, as they may stimulate additional thoughts which you can share at the upcoming meeting.
