Visioning the Promise

of Mission Valley

From dairy farms to shopping malls, rivers to freeways, will we eventually call Mission Valley an “environment befitting the grandeur of the valley” as envisioned by the writers of Temporary Paradise?

That seminal planning document, which was an early inspiration for C-3, looked at the region's unique qualities and addressed how they could be sustained. With the Community Plan Update for Mission Valley currently underway, we will imagine what the future might hold. Can we transform this valley into one of the country’s greatest river parks? Will a sky tram connect it to surrounding neighborhoods on the adjacent heights? What new uses could be made of the current stadium site?  Is it possible to build new communities focused around transit stations?

Join us for a Breakfast Dialogue that promises to inspire! Visionary ideas submitted from our members, professionals and the wider public will be discussed by an esteemed panel of jurors in addition to audience feedback.
