We synthesize historical knowledge with innovative thinking to develop solutions for San Diego's unique land use and design challenges.
C-3’s Knowledge-Action Networks (KANs) are collaborative think tanks that facilitate research, educational programming, and design proposals to illuminate strategies for achieving culturally vibrant, economically robust, and environmentally sustainable growth in the San Diego/Tijuana region.
Their mission is to synthesize historical knowledge with innovative thinking to identify solutions that empower and support diverse land use stakeholders from grassroots community activists to top-level policy makers.
KANs bring together local thought leaders from planning, design, policy, academia, community development, and more to address our region's distinctive and pressing land use challenges.
Each KAN works on one of five focus regions significant to San Diego. These areas were identified in C-3's seminal planning document, Temporary Paradise?, as needing special consideration, for each is pivotal to our quality of life, economic future, and also vulnerable to destruction.
