Communications Coordinator


About the Position

Our ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to create powerful, clear, and strategic messages and to disseminate them effectively using a wide range of communications tools and technology.

C-3 is seeking an independent contractor for approximately 20 hours of work per month (with a maximum of 30 hours/month), on a six-month contract with an opportunity to extend at the end of the contract. The rate is $35/hour (negotiable based on experience).

Responsibilities

Developing and managing digital marketing, communications, and fundraising campaigns across e-mail, web, and social media platforms.

Developing and managing digital organizing campaigns in collaboration with C-3 leadership.

Planning, managing, and creating social media content, including graphics, design elements, interactive data presentations, and other content.

Working with the Board of Directors to develop consistent and ongoing member outreach, including new-member engagement, newsletters, and social media.

Developing and managing content for the C-3 website; back-end website design capability is a plus.

Write and distribute press releases.

Required Qualifications

At least 3-4 years of experience doing communications and media work.

Demonstrated knowledge of social media platforms, communications, and marketing.

Excellent written communication skills.

Knowledge of the region’s urban planning efforts, and related local government entities and nonprofits.

A solid grasp of C-3 values and the issue areas we focus on.

Skills in the following programs are highly desirable:

Canva or comparable graphic design program.

Wild Apricot or comparable web-building/contact management program.

G Suite: including Sheets, Docs, Mail, Slides, and Forms.
